Sustainable Threads partners with the Physically Disabled Weavers Initiative to craft beautifully woven dish towels. In India, employment opportunities and social services for physically disabled individuals are minimal, and many face significant challenges due to persistent stigma and misconceptions about their abilities. To address these issues, a small weaving group was established, providing artisans with valuable skills to improve their social standing and support their families. Artisans have access to scholarships to pursue higher education and also for their children’s education. Profits are shared with the community, benefiting those unable to work due to age or disability.
