• Each piece is coated in a protective weather-resistant varnish. Metal art displayed outside will result in a rusted patina. If this is not a desired outcome it is recommended to annually spray the metal art with a clear gloss spray varnish (like Rust-Oleum) to keep it protected.

This item is by Beyond Borders, a company that partners with one hundred artists in Haiti to create stunning metal art. To make each piece, artists flatten empty oil drums and trace out a pattern with chalk. The metal is then chiseled, bringing forth designs that are inspired by Haitian culture and nature. Beyond Borders has been a member of the Fair Trade Federation since 2007 and guarantees artists a fair wage and safe working conditions.
