The "We Are Here" exhibit by Eric Deshawn Lerma draws inspiration from the work of Frederick Douglass, famed abolitionist, writer, and statesman, who viewed Black self-representation in general and portraiture in particular as powerful tools for supporting Black liberation.
A portion of each tote sale goes toward R.A.C.E. Matters, a non-profit who's mission is to create artistic, cultural, educational, and social experiences that amplify Black voices and matters of racial justice.
