But what makes this social enterprise so special isn’t their products, it’s who makes them.
Bright Endeavors’ candles are made by a collective of young moms in Chicago who are experiencing poverty and home instability. They are part of a paid job training program that develops their professional skills and helps them establish economic security. Women who graduate from the program increase their income by an average of 150 percent. Bright Endeavors has worked with over 400 moms since 2013.
