Natural Habitat uplifts the work of small-scale artisans who make traditional textiles and handicrafts in India. Founded in 2002, they celebrate and preserve traditional techniques such as block printing, embroidery, and appliqué, which have been passed down from one artisan to another for generations. All of their products are handmade from environmentally-friendly materials.
Natural Habitat is intentional about partnering with producers that provide artisans with full-time employment, wages at or above market rates, and the freedom to work from home or in small village workshops. They maintain a strong connection to the Indian artisans by visiting each producer on a regular basis to discuss production and new products. It’s a valuable relationship that ensures smooth operations and celebrates cross-cultural collaboration.
