Felt butterfly garlands are made by women in the village of Sertung. Due to its remote location, materials used to make garlands are transported by back on a two day trek from the nearest road to Sertung. The lack of electricity and tools, nor the devastating 2015 earthquake stops these artisans from creating lovely garlands to generate vital income.
This product is from Ganesh Himal Trading, a company that has been working in Nepal for over thirty years. Founded in 1984, their mission is to pay skilled artisans fair wages so that they can build the lives they want and deserve. Ganesh Himal is a member of the Fair Trade Federation and partners with hundreds of Nepali artisans.
