What’s your name and role at HumanKind, and how long have you been part of the team?

My name is Amanda. I work as a salesperson and designer for our customized products at HumanKind. I started working here in September of 2022, and it’s been such a rewarding experience ever since.

How would you describe your personal style or taste when it comes to fashion, home, or gifts?

I shop mostly secondhand clothing and love mixing unique pieces from different eras. I’m really drawn to denim and patterns, but I definitely wear a lot of black and silver jewelry. I like feeling comfortable but chic. At home, my style is a little different. I love collecting art from other artists, and my space is definitely more colorful than what I usually wear.

What inspires your personal style or gift-giving choices?

When it comes to gifts, I love giving things that are useful or that genuinely spark joy. I focus a lot on people’s hobbies and interests. My personal style is always changing depending on my experiences and mood, which keeps things fun and creative.

What do you love most about working at HumanKind or being part of the fair trade movement?

I really love helping people find gifts for their loved ones. Being surrounded by such creative people every day is incredibly inspiring. Learning about artisan techniques and being around so much craftsmanship genuinely makes me happy.

What makes shopping at HumanKind different from other stores?

It’s how colorful and welcoming it feels the moment you step inside. You’re not just shopping, you’re also learning about cultures and traditions from around the world. Being able to shop and learn at the same time makes the experience truly special.
