Tim gravitates toward pieces with character, craftsmanship, and a story to tell. His favorites reflect a love for unique finds, thoughtful details, and items that stand out for both their quality and meaning.
What’s your name and role at HumanKind, and how long have you been part of the team?
I'm Tim Kelly, the assistant manager here at HumanKind. I've been part of the team now for a little over 8 years. I handle the inventory control. So I determine how much or how little of each item to keep in the store and place all the orders to keep the store fully stocked. I also create the fun window displays you see when you come by our store.
How would you describe your personal style or taste when it comes to fashion, home, or gifts?
When it comes to fashion, I would probably say that I have a retro style somewhere between mid-century modern, 1960's hippy, and1970s funk. The style of our home also draws from a lot of these elements and my wife makes sure to keep our house filled with rare and exotic plants. The two of us love to garden, so our yard is a biodiverse one with a mix of native plants, drought tolerant plants, and a small fruit forest.
What inspires your personal style or gift-giving choices?
When it comes to gift giving, I like giving and receiving gifts that are thoughtful, unique, sustainable, and/or ethical.
